Description The paper deals with current problems of oral history in museums taking into account the situation in the Czech Republic. The analysis aim mainly on the strengths and weaknesses of this method, its overall specifics and possibility of use in the musealisation process (selection, thesauration, presentation). Selected ethical and legislative aspects of oral history in the museum environment are also mentioned and evaluated (e.g. ethical codes, relevant laws). Lastly, the possibilities of further development in the field of memory institutions is outlined.
