Description The Day of Latin is a day-long event aimed at ridding Latin of the classical notion of a difficult and ossified discipline, best described by the phrase "chopping Latin", and presenting it as a lively communication tool, a testimony of a unique culture and a mediator of its extremely valuable and still living heritage for the next generation. Since 2012, the Institute of Greek and Latin Studies of the Faculty of Arts of Charles University in Prague has been organising the Latin Day, and this year it has joined forces with the Institute of Classical Studies of Masaryk University and extended the programme to Brno. The programme included lectures, seminars, workshops, a competition and a panel discussion. Some of the lectures were transmitted to each other, and the competition and discussion were shared. The program was designed primarily for high school students and their teachers. The Brno part of this unique celebration of Latin and the Latin tradition took place in three lecture panels, each offering three lectures to those interested; one of these panels was accessible online at Charles University. Another panel was shared by Charles University and MUNI.
