Description | The composer Jan Klusák has set out invention not only as a mere form, but as a basic creative method that permeates all levels of composition, from micro-tectonics to the whole composition. Invention as a model of musical thinking for the composer covers the period from 1961 to the present day and encompasses various genres, from chamber ensembles to large symphonic apparatus with a vocal component. The starting point of the paper will be primarily the composer's autographic account of his compositional method and its setting in the historical context of the application of invention in 20th century Czech music. |
