Description | The research project "The Aesthetics of AIArt" lies at the intersection of experimental aesthetics, computational cognitive neuroscience, and computer science. The project aims to provide a dynamic analysis of the evolution of aesthetic processes in the collaboration between humans and AI systems. Its primary goal is to address the feasibility and future forms of AIArt, where the partnership between humans and conscious AI systems plays a dominant role. The operability of such a partnership assumes that AI systems in art will incorporate elements of autonomous decision-making and reasoning characteristic of consciousness. The research design is structured around two methodological approaches: theoretical-analytical and experimental. The theoretical-analytical approach is situated within the discourse of the aesthetics of AIArt and the study of contemporary artistic practices. This approach identifies and analyzes artistic-research strategies in an interdisciplinary context, explicitly or implicitly addressing the partnership between humans and conscious AI systems. It emphasizes qualitative research methods, providing insights into the current state of AIArt and serving as a foundation for future predictions. The experimental approach represents a practical-speculative perspective focused on creating predictive models, understood as a form of hybrid artistic research. The methodological core of this approach involves speculative research methods, including future-oriented exploration through imagination, creativity, and critical thinking. It also encompasses the generation and consideration of various future scenarios and their testing on predictive markets. |
