Description The presentation presented the results of research focused on a comprehensive mapping of the impact of experienced racism on the mental health of Roma in the Czech Republic. The broader goal of the project is to support the development of effective mental health interventions for marginalized ethnic minorities. We conducted two focus groups, each with 5-7 Roma participants of different ages (20-64), education and residence. The thematic analysis revealed the stress burden associated primarily with cultural forms of experienced racism, which leads to anticipatory anxiety and affects the everyday decision-making of Roma men and women. The findings will be further used to develop a diagnostic tool to capture the impact of different forms of racism on the mental health of Roma men and women, which is still significantly lacking in the European context.
