Description European Atlas of Fertility Treatment Policies is an online interactive map that scores 49 European countries in their access to equal, safe and efficient fertility treatments. Considering the fact that in Europe, infertility affects 25 million of its citizens and that it represents a medical condition with severe consequences, including depression, the main European tendency is public funding of fertility treatments. The greatest interest is the comparison of this and other European atlases (Contraception Atlas, Abortion Atlas), where one can notice that some countries have worsened access to contraception and abortion, while improving access to fertility treatments. At this point, the question arises as to whether the motive for these governments is to improve the situation of people suffering from infertility or worry about population decline and ageing. Whatever the motive, in addition to access to equal, safe and effective fertility treatments, for the health of Europe’s population, we must support all parts of sexual and reproductive health.
