| Description | The town of Jihlava on the Bohemian-Moravian border became an important fortified point of the Swedish army in 1645-1647 and the town fortification reached its maximum extent in these years. The article summarizes information about the form of the elements of the bastion fortification of Jihlava including the state of their preservation in the landscape and presents the results of archaeological excavations that involved a bastion fortification. Based on two plans deposited in the Swedish National Archive in Stockholm, a design regarding the pre-Swedish and Swedish phase of the development of the bastion fortification of Jihlava is presented. |
