Description This paper aims to present selected female contemporary Polish playwrights from the years 2020–??????2024 and to analyse how their plays reflect the social tensions in Poland that permeate both public and private life. A key aspect of this tension is the encroachment on personal freedom, which fundamentally affects women, who thus become the main force of social revolt. This issue is strongly reflected in dramatic work that includes feminist themes such as sexualised violence, queer identity, xenophobia, nationalism and the climate crisis. The analysis of Antonina Grzegorzewska's drama Migrena (2020), Daria Kubisiak's Wyparte (2023) and Maria Wojtyszko's Pierwsze razy (2024) focuses on key dramatic elements such as characterisation of characters, time structure, plot construction and work with language, and explores how these plays thematise the traumatised and pressing sites of Polish society.
