This paper examines the impact of English on live F1 commentary in Slovak and Czech television broadcast. By analyzing race commentary, the research highlights the extent to which English terminology, idioms, and expressions are integrated into native-language broadcast. The findings suggest that although commentators are trying to maintain linguistic authenticity, direct borrowings and code-switching are prevalent. |
