Description | The article examines a specific type of linguistic non-equivalence—lacunae—identified in the semantic field of "higher education" in Russian and Czech. A lacuna refers to the absence of a word in a language's lexical system to express a particular concept. These gaps in Russian and Czech are closely tied to differences in their educational systems, which are also analyzed in the article. Additionally, the article presents graphical materials that can be utilized to explore lacunae in foreign language studies. |
