Citation
Description This presentation explores how new and traditional media support the language integration of people with international or temporary protection in the Czech Republic. It highlights research conducted between 2020 and 2024, showing how refugees use digital tools like WhatsApp or dating apps to develop Czech language skills. However, new media mainly support receptive skills, while productive language learning is still expected from formal courses. Several post-2022 projects, such as MOVAPP and ČT EDU, specifically assist Ukrainian pupils in learning Czech. The talk concludes by emphasizing the need for quality materials and sharing practical experiences across institutions.
