Description | In my contribution, I traced the development of external possession construction in two late medieval vernacular texts, Digenis Akritas and the Chronicle of Morea. I provided observations on the form of the External Possession Construction, its frequency, and the syntactic conditions under which it occurs. Special attention was given to medieval developments in word order, which significantly influenced the transformation of the External Possession Construction as it gradually evolved toward the Modern Greek model. |
