| Description | Public transport represents a key tool for increasing the accessibility of cities, especially for certain groups of users. This text focuses on the accessibility of public transport for passengers with sensory disabilities, as the current discussion still predominantly centers around people with mobility disabilities. Based on interviews and focus groups with public transport users in Brno and employees of the Brno City Transport Company, two databases were created: one mapping the barrier situations encountered by passengers with visual and hearing disabilities, and another proposing potential solutions. The paper aims to introduce situations that passengers with visual or hearing impairments may perceive as barriers, thus broadening the concept of accessible public transport. Barrier situations for people with visual disabilities are largely caused by the absence of information in audio form or other accessible formats. Conversely, for people with hearing disabilities, the lack of information in visual form poses a major challenge. |
