Description The life and work of Milan Kundera can be examined not only from a purely literary point of view but also as an example of the dynamic relationship between cultural centres and their peripheries. In addressing this topic, we focus on the axiological structuring of the literary field and its authenticating and consecrating functions. We observe the strategies by which an author can contribute to the axiological transformation of the field while moving from the cultural periphery to the centre. Our argument includes not only literary politics but also a close connection with aesthetic aspects – namely, literary language and poetics.
