Description	The lecture provides a theoretical foundation for understanding artificial intelligence and its applications in academic practice. Participants will be introduced to key concepts for critically assessing and responsibly using AI tools. We will explore the principles of large language models, the distinctions between statistical and semantic AI, and issues of transparency in AI systems. Special emphasis will be placed on developing critical thinking skills—recognizing hallucinations, biases, and other limitations of AI. The session also includes a discussion on the ethical aspects of AI in the academic sphere. It establishes a theoretical basis for subsequent workshops focused on concrete applications.
