| Description | This contribution focuses on a comparative analysis of the dramatization of Kateřina Tučková's novel The Expulsion of Gerta Schnirch and its literary source. The aim of the analysis is to reveal how the specific features of the novel's narrative are transformed into the language of stage realization. Attention is given to the changes in characters and their motivations during the adaptation process, tracing the preservation or modification of the novel's key motifs and examining shifts in the compositional structure of the story. Particular attention is paid to the issue of narration and the ways in which the novel's narrator is replaced or reflected in the dramatic text. The outcome of this comparison is a deeper understanding of the process of adapting a literary work for the theatre and the revelation of the specific possibilities and limitations of both art forms in the context of addressing a historically sensitive topic. |
