Description In the context of growing linguistic globalization, English has become a dominant source of lexical borrowing across numerous languages, including Polish. Sports media, with its dynamic and international character, is particularly prone to such influences. This paper examines the presence and function of Anglicisms within Polish sports discourse, focusing specifically on a special issue of Przegląd Sportowy devoted to Formula 1. While Englishderived terms permeate various layers of public language, many remain confined to the vocabulary of experts and dedicated enthusiasts. The study aims to illuminate the ways in which English contributes to the formation of sports-specific terminology in Polish, highlighting both frequently used borrowings and more nuanced instances of lexical innovation.
