| Description | Within the assisted reproduction cycle, it is necessary to select an embryo with the highest possible implantation potential before embryo transfer. Morphological assessment and genetic testing are most often used to assess the suitability of an embryo for transfer. One of the goals of research in this field is therefore to find reliable non-invasive biomarkers that could complement the currently used assessment methods. A number of potential biomarkers of cultivation success have been identified in the literature using various analytical methods. Different studies used different sample sizes and had differently defined criteria for success or failure. As part of the project, culture media samples after individual and group embryo cultivations were analyzed using the targeted LC-MS/MS method to monitor selected biomarkers from the literature. Furthermore, culture media samples after group embryo cultivations were studied using the untargeted LC-MS method. The data were processed using multivariate analysis methods and we explored the possibility of using data from untargeted analyses to predict the success of cultivation. |
