Keywords Paul Klee; exhibition in Prague 1926
Description Based on previously unused correspondence by Paul Klee preserved in the Archives of the National Gallery in Prague, this study examines the circumstances surrounding the artist's exhibition of sixty watercolours, which was organised by the Krasoumná jednota in the exhibition halls of the Rudolfinum Artists' House in Prague from 27 February to 14 March 1926. Thanks to this, Prague, along with Paris, became the first place in history to hold a solo exhibition of the painter's works outside Germany. The article also deals in detail with the largely positive response that the exhibition aroused among art critics in Czech and German newspapers and magazines.
