Description The treatise deals with the analysis of Petrarcas model of a shepherd and his flock. It is a contribution to comparison of the church critique in Petrarcas writings with the church critique in works written by the authors of early Czech Reformation. The focus is on the sixth eclogue of Petrarcas Bucolicum carmen, with regard to the seventh eclogue and some letters from his collection Liber sine nomine. The article shows how two different ways of handling the same image one originating in antique and the other one in biblical tradition may come together reaching the same goal.
