Description The terminology of jewellery has been elaboration neither in art history nor in ethnology. The terms of jewel and decoration have frequently been interchanged. An object treated in a goldsmiths way is considered as a jewel, whereas embellishment and decotration are objects from natural materials. As the boundary between these terms in vague, it is better to use the general terms jewellery.
