Description Besides traditional tests, contemporary diagnostics knows also a more effective way to measure psychological characteristics - adaptive testing. The idea of adaptive testing has quite a long history. However, its advantages are more evident since the computers are able of a real interactive administration. Computational power of computers enabled using advanced mathematical apparatus known as Item Response Theory (IRT). Most of adaptive tests are aimed to the area of performance testing. Nevertheless, efforts to extent the usage of adaptive testing are oriented to the personality testing.
