Description The contribution deals with circumstances of building of two filial churches in Komarov parish. The church of St. Florian was built in Cernovice between 1898 and 1899. In Horni Herspice, building of the church of St. Klement Maria Hofbauer took place between 1911 and 1912. Based on the analyses of newspaper articles, of the chosen consecrations and of the architectural style, the buildings are placed into the context of national and confessional tensions of the epoch. The article discusses in detail connections with the cultural politics of Brnos bishop Huyn or with the character of suburban communities, where these churches were built, for example. The article ends with a description of a disappearance of the church of Cernovice between 1945 and 1960.
