Description Theory of evolution occupies a special place in the history of biology and human thinking as such. This is evidenced by a continuous interest on part of scholarly as well as general public, which arose in the 19th century and has lasted since. Evolution and its scientific understanding is not solely a matter of biologists and other scientists dealing with live nature. Scientific field called evolutionary biology is a subject of numerous discussions and attacks by media, motivated by religion or politics. This is happening mainly in the USA where the revived „scientific” creationism has retained its popularity. Hence the last example of criticism of evolutionary biology from the standpoint of the „intelligent design” as a concept claiming scientific attitude to the evolution theory. What was originally molecular biology idea has grown, due to massive media influence, to the form, which in many ways is similar to the situation at the end of the 20th century, when the USA had to deal with the „scientific“creationism.
