| Description | The article sums up the history of Czech translations of Lewis Carroll's Alice books and discusses two topics connected to Carroll: it introduces to the Czech reader samples of Carroll!s humorous writing on photographing. The main part of the article consists in a discussion of a new understanding of Carroll's personality, as described in Karoline Leach's book that attempts at describing him as a self-conscious man of society and a womanizer. |
