Description The paper is one of the first outputs of research project Czech School Head Teacher and their Personal and Professional Path Development (Czech Science Foundation, ref. n. 406/07/0845). The text deals with how there are the impacts of the contemporary school reform on the work of head teachers. The authors focus on the most important changes: 1) Curriculum reform 2) Concept of accountability 3) School Board.The article brings an insight into the real form that these changes have evoked in schools. The authors used the qualitative analyses of head teachers statements. This methods was supplemented other techniques as a study of documentary sources and an experts consultations.
