Description The analysis of Michel Tremblay's hexalogy Chroniques du Plateau-Mont-Royal (1977-1997) shows that the family saga and the story of the birth of the future writer may be interpreted as a cultural program of raising the urban working class culture to the level of a national literature. The configuration of the family indicates wrong and right ways of development.
