| Description | The report tries to show Bretholz's career and his own ambitions. However, the period of the described events was influenced by nationalism and anti-Semitism. On the basis of correspondence (archive documents) and in relation to political events the author analyses the ruined attempts of the archive director, Bretholz, for a professorship in Berlin and in Prague. She follows the late years of his life and the period thereafter. She succeeded in detecting the lines of his wife and in finding his descendents. |
