Description An essay to the theme of artistic exchange between Brno and Vienna at the end of the “long” 19th centrury. Franz Holik was born and lived in Vienna, where he studied at the special class of Otto Wagner at the Academy of Arts, and he became the first city architect in Brno in 1905. He worked for the city of Brno until his superannuation in 1935. Various aspects of his architectural activities are the subject matter of the analysis.
