Description The author points at myth as a dispraise, but important grid organizing and giving an account of human experience. The lecture breaks up into three section. During the preliminary section author calls our attention to the fact that whole our life, the sporting part as well as domestic or professional ones, is structured by series of myths because they provide us with horizons, approaches, and analytical instruments which help us to order, to hierarchize, and, therefore, to understand our lifes. In the second part, the author shows how is our modern ideology of sport built up on series of not only sports myths that grew up in the 19. century. In the last section, the author suggests to work out a new myth, which help us in better undestanding of contemporary sport. The text is the outcome of a long-term research into modern ideology of sport.
