Description This contribution focuses on the most important changes in the religious life in the Czech Republic after the so-called Velvet Revolution. There are two levels of current trends: a) on the level of religious behavior of Czech population, earlier secularization tendencies have prevailed even after the significant social changes. Nowadays, the CR appears to be a country with very low number of believers; b) on the level of politics and legislation there has been marked liberalization of religious life; however, certain barriers still exist.
