Citation
Description František Graus. A Pensive Pilgrim between the Living and Dead Past: It is difficult to find amongst the European historical elite of the 20th century a figure as contradictory as František Graus. On the one hand he is the arrogant dogmatist and leading historian of the Communist regime, hated by his colleagues, while on other, he is a man with a European outlook an education, a distinguished scientist and one of the greatest Czech medievalists. Due to several fundamental reversals of opinion, Graus life was full of contradictions.
