| Description | The contribution puts forward an edition and analysis of three so far almost unknown letters by the Moravian land captain Jan Tovačovský of Cimburk to the chapter of Olomouc. The first two letters were written in the 1440s and concerned the argument of Jan Tovačovský with the judicial vicar of Olomouc regarding the confirmation of a Utraquist parish priest in Hranice. The third letter may be from the 1430s or 1440s and reflects the argument with the bishop of Olomouc (Pavel of Miličín) regarding the consecration of Jan Žák, captain's servant. The letters substantially enhance the knowledge of the Moravian Utraquist church administration in the period after the acceptance of the Compactata of Basel. |
