Description This paper resumes the situation on the beginning of new excavation on the hillfort Old castle near Suchohrdly, dis. Znojmo on the year 2007. Detail topography, geophysical prospection, soil boring and metal detector survey was realized. A trench with the surface of 100 square meters was laid diagonal above the wall. First off the composite layers 50 cm deep in the hillfort area as the overlay of the wall and soil drift on the base of the wall was uncovered. The ceramic fragments of Late Neolithic, Bronze Age and Old Iron Age occurred in these composite layers. The expected finds of Late Urnfield Period were not identified.
