| Description | In the extended review, the so called "critic edition" of Macrobius' Commentary on the Dream of Scipio is analysed. The author of the review focuses particularly on the introductive display, which specifies Macrobius' text in its relation to the other late ancient neoplatonic writings, and prefigures the concentration of the edition on the historic-philosophical context, and at the same time on the first introductory treatise on the imaginative and musical imitation of the Dream of the Scipio. As a weakness of the edition, the author considers the absence of the more elaborate philological analysis. |
