Description The Charter of Niquinta speaking about a great heretical meeting at Saint-Félix in 1167 and claiming dissident origin is a crucial point of current debates on catharism and bogomilism. It is the only document proving the solid organization of south-western-France dissent already in the 1160s and claims it to be linked to oriental dissent. The paper tests different hypotheses about the origin of the document: modern forgery, anti-heretical stylisation, document relating a historical meeting, dissident forgery, dissident legend from the 13th century. The paper resumes the current state of the debate.
