| Description | Based on the German fiction written in Bohemia and Moravia between 1830 and 1940, a wide range of images of the "national other" is examined, including both anational/antinational and pronounced national works of fiction. The main issue is a differentiation of seemingly stereotypical image of the Czechs. The pivotal point of the whole study is that constructions and depictions of "the other" can be seen as derived from the particular image of "our own". |
