Centralized development programme

MEYS

About the programme

The programme is announced annually by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. Projects are supported based on recommendations from the Programme Council, an advisory body of the ministry consisting of representatives from the Ministry, the Council of Higher Education Institutions, and the Czech Rectors Conference.

The aim of the Centralized Development Programme is to contribute to fulfilling the individual priorities set out in the MEYS’s Strategic Plan of the Ministry for the Higher Education Sector for the Period from 2021, the Implementation Plan of the Strategic Plan for the Higher Education Sector for the Current Year, and the related objectives of individual higher education institutions.

A higher education institution can submit a limited number of project applications involving a smaller number of higher education institutions (currently five projects involving 2–17 higher education institutions) and any number of applications involving a larger number of higher education institutions (currently 18+ higher education institutions). The university management must approve project proposals before submission.

Specific limits on the number of project proposals and possible thematic focus are published annually in the Announcement of the Centralized Development Programme for Public Higher Education Institutions.
