The return grants will be intended for scientists from Czech institutions who have completed their doctoral studies within the last ten years (career breaks extend this period). It will be possible to submit a project within two years of the end of a career break related to the care of a child or other dependent of one to five years. The duration of the support will depend on the amount of time chosen, between two and four years. The project may also involve student researchers and technical staff.
GAČR expects to support 25 new projects each year.
GA CR, in collaboration with the Israeli Science Foundation (ISF), has launched a new call for Czech-Israeli projects under the Lead Agency scheme, with projects expected to commence in 2028. Proposals may be submitted until 18 November 2026
