Description The catholic enclaves in the frontier regions of the Czech land during the hussite wars still remain as a phenomenon which deserves a solid research. In the centre of such region there was usually a fortified spot – a castle, which provided a refuge in case of danger. Generally there were also many catholic exiles hiding out in those regions. The submitted paper claims to meet three goals by research of the catholic region of the castle Bezdez in the northern Bohemia. Firstly it tries to determine the size of the Bezděz catholic area and its transformations, secondly it brings the list of exiles probably hidden there, thirdly it traces the praxis of the exile church administration office of the Prag archbischopric in Zittau.
