Description Article addresses contemporary educational inequality theories which are being summarized and categorized to presently, following a brief analysis of a current state of a tertiary education in the Czech Republic, introduce two vital educational inequality theories: Maximally Maintained Inequality (MMI) and Effectively Maintained Inequality (EMI). At the end of the work, a research design to verify the two aforementioned theoretical models in the Czech university schooling is outlined.
