Description The study reflects the life and work of Zenovy Lysko (1895-1969), a Ukrainian composer, musicologist and music teacher. The emhasis is put on archive documents related to his stay in Prague (1922-1929) where he studied at the Prague Conservatory and in the master class of Josef Suk. He defended his doctoral dissertation under the leading by Zdeněk Nejedlý at the Ukrainian Free University of Prague and also taught at the Music Faculty of the Mychajal Drahomanov Pedagogical University. After a brief intermission in Kharkov, he returned to eastern Galicia in 1931, where he developed a rich pedagogical, composer, musicological and musical-journalistic activity. In 1945 he emigrated to the American occupation zone in Germany, and in 1960 he moved to the United States of America where he died. Unfortunately, his composer's work is largely unprotected, but it is possible to say in what genres Lysko composed. The study also commented on Lysek's crucial musicological works, which, through his method of processing, go beyond the standard framework of Ukrainian music production.
