Description Nowadays, in the historic sphere, it is consensual to accept the fact that the theme of "history of workers" ("Labor history") has, after 1989, been overwhelmed by the position of the the context and the edge of the interest of historians. However, the situation has changed somewhat and, of course, there is a need to deal with an analysis of the historical history of this area. Basic reports already exist, the next step should be a more detailed analysis of the stages of Slovak historiography. In general, the period of Slovak state is one of the most controversial at all. Therefore, it would be appropriate to have such an analysis before the new research initiatives in the history of labor. In this context, the contribution aims at an in-depth analytical description of the history of work in the Slovak state (1939-1945) - it will examine the literature dealing with the general position of the workers in the economic and social context, the role and position of monopolistic Christian trade unions or the strike movement. The output of the study will consist of a description of the basic state, trends and limits in each area of the history of labor in the given historical stage.
