Citation
Description The period of the first half of 17th century in Holešov town and domain could be marked as a time when regional history was strongly influenced by general problems and crisis ana only slowly turning to social stabilization and cultural rise. Holešow was town between the Hanakia region and the restless Walachia region wich represented one of the basic elements shaping its history. We must also mention significant personalities among the local landlords. Their social position in the Early New Age society was reflected in the importance of the town itself which we , therfore, must tollow not only in the local, regional context but also as a part of „big“ history of the whole country. The Moravian captain Ladislaus of Lobkowicz gained the Holešov domain in 1604 and organizad the whole proces of political and religious changes in the Moravian Margrave from there. Very similar situation followed in the middle of 17th century when Holešov was passed into possesion of Johann of Rottal. Moravian captain and significant supporter of Habsburg polisy in the country, Holešon also entered the „big“ history in other contexts.
