| Description | We will talk about the reception of the new results of Plato research in the book Corpora by E. Nordhofen. On the one hand, one have to remark: "Plato and the writing of philosophy" is not the main theme of this new Nordhofen's book. On the other hand, Socrates and Plato appear several times in the Corpora: above all, as an example of the prominent Greek critics of writing, who in the time of the great medial transformation from orality to the writing have thought on the ambivalence of writing (pharmakon). Because the main theme for Nordhofen is the new mediality of the spiritual bread of Christianity, we have to ask: how Socrates or Plato fit into this narrative? |
