Description	The paper is an outline of the view of the heterogeneous form and the transformation of the relations between humans (human population) and the environment. It offers a brief assessment of the historical peripetia of the settlement of the South Moravian landscape, the use of natural resources and the overall anthropogenic transformation of the original landscape.
