Citation
Description Vranečka´s chronicle is a valuable manuscript source which explains the events in Moravia throughout the 18th and the first half of the 19th centuries. It was Jan B. Vranečka, a teacher from Zašová, who began to write the chronicle in the year 1725; after his death, it was his sons and then further generations of authors who continued presenting the records. The manuscript informs about the history of the place of pilgrimage site in Zašová and the foundation of the Trinitarian monastery. Vranečka´s records are also an interesting contribution to learn about the everyday life of the inhabitants in the region within one hundred and fifty years. The edition of Vranečka´s chronicle supplemented with annals records and a description of a pilgrimage to Rome, written by František Deml, another teacher in Zašová, is provided with accompanying analytic studies, comments, and explanatory notes.
