| Description | In this paper, I examine two types of quantificational adjectives exemplified by English `two-time' and `double'. Not only are such expressions frequent in natural languages but also they exhibit non-trivial quantificational behavior. And yet, they are surprisingly understudied within formal semantics. Though both classes of adjectives in question involve some sort of numerical quantification, i.e., they relate to a particular number, they differ semantically from cardinal numerals in that they operate on specifically defined eventive part-whole structures. |
