| Description | The communication is based on the ecocritical analysis of two novels from the French-speaking Creole milieu, L'Aimé by Axel Gauvin and L'Année des cyclones by Carl de Souza from Mauritius. In our contribution, we will try to show and analyze the relationship between the landscape and the characters as well as the phenomenon of the cyclone and its reflections in our corpus. According to our hypothesis, the nature descriptions of the landscapes do not serve as an exotic depiction, but they are crucial for the understanding of the works. Can the subaltern of the local discourse speak through nature? |
