| Description | The talk has focused on the emotional component of musical meaning and especially on the overlap in the acoustic cues used to convey basic emotions in speech and music. It has been argued that music uses intensified versions of the affective cues used in speech which then influence the interpretation of song lyrics. The use of affective prosodic cues in music has been suggested to represent a social-intentional component of musical meaning. |
